the Leica S2 camera | featured on Leica’s blog

Last month, I was fortunate to have a chance to try out an amazing photographic tool: Leica’s S2 professional digital camera. I believe it’s the only professional camera system designed specifically for shooting digitally. If the Nikons and Canons of the DSLR world are akin to Toyota and Honda, then this marvel is like a Maybach....

  • Rick GraingerI greatly enjoyed your review of the Leica S2 on the Leica Camera blog. I had a chance to hold and use one shortly at Imaging USA and immediately fell in love with it. I also make my living photographing the energy and excitement of weddings and also am currently saving up for this fine piece of machinery as well. The Maybach is just going to have to wait. 🙂
Here’s wishing you much success in business and much happiness in life.

Matthew + Sarah

Here are some film shots from Matthew and Sarah‘s wedding in September…I’ve been crazy busy and have been meaning to post them for ages. I’m also excited to be prepping some film/digital comparisons. All of the rectangular shots are what I took on the Contax 645, and the square images were shot by Hannah on...

Dustin + Nicole

John and I were so honored to be a part of Dustin and Nicole’s wedding. The weather, location, colors of fall; everything was perfect. Their wedding was held at Laurelwood, which provided the perfect backdrop for the season. The ladies of Winfield Couture did all of the ceremony and reception flowers and they were gorgeous....

    PPA Workshop

Lindsey and I are excited to be welcoming photographers from across Tennessee to our studio next Monday! We’re hosting a SuperMonday learning workshop focusing on lighting. We have just a few spots left, and at $125 (to the PPA…not me…) I think it will be quite a bargain! I’m also excited to announce that we’ll...

      family on film

I hear it all the time. “I’ll bet you guys have all sorts of pictures up at your house…” and “you must have a thousand pictures of Jack.” Well, we have tens of thousands of pictures in our house and studio, and thousands of pictures of Jack. Guess what? They’re almost all on hard drives...

      Blake + Elizabeth

Early on, I had decided not to photograph Blake and Elizabeth’s wedding, mostly because I was (honored to be) a groomsman, but also because I really wanted to be able to sit back, relax, enjoy family…and I really wanted to {finally} dance with my wife and son. So my compromise was just shooting a little...

      • Sarah ErvinYou have heard it from me before, and I will say it again…your film is awesome! I think its so great you guys incorporate that in with the rest of the digital. These shots, especially the top ones and the b&w of Elizabeth, are just lovely!ReplyCancel

      • JohnHey! I’m glad that you gals like it!

Sarah, I used a different lab for your film, and just got it back…very excited about it! Should be up soon!

      Chad + Christy

I’m not sure really where to begin to write about Chad and Christy. Honestly, I met each of them at separate photo shoots; she was there for a phenomenal shoot with Emily from Boutique Couture at the Choo-Choo, and Chad played hoops with some colleagues for a spot in Memorial Hospital’s Inspire magazine. Since then,...
