It’s time to JAM!

It is strawberry time in our little town and that means that we are gearing up to make our strawberry jam!  We have a local farm that grows strawberries and we wait at their little farm stand to get our flats of strawberries.  Canning is something that was special to me when I was growing up. I remember going over to my grandparent’s house and smelling the delicious aroma of strawberries and sugar simmering.  It was truly one of my favorite things!  So we wanted to get our kids involved and start this tradition in our home!  I know that canning is is a process, but one that my family has come to love and enjoy together. It is messy, but SO worth it!   The Pioneer Woman has a great canning 101 section on her blog with lots of great images and advice! Click here to download and print the recipe card!
