From our first meeting, I knew that I wanted to be part of Matthew and Julia’s wedding celebration. There is simply a j’en sais quoi about them — from Julia’s beautiful smile to Matthew’s quick wit and humor — that is absolutely perfect. It never ceases to amaze me how God puts people together who complement one another in so many intricate ways. (It’s obviously never a bad idea to compliment your loved one either!)
We had a great time getting to know each other at their engagement session in Atlanta, and since then I was not only looking forward to the wedding, but more specifically to the dancing portion. Now, I’ve been photographing weddings for 10 years, and I have never seen dancing like this…you see: Matthew is built somewhat like Conan O’Brian, but somehow manages to move more like Fred Astaire. Julia was incredibly graceful dancing in her wedding dress, and then later showed some quick footwork after she changed into a “party” dress. It was really amazing to see them together on the dance floor.
Seriously, when they finished their dances, it was all I could do just to keep on photographing instead of jumping up and down and shouting “wow, wow, wow” like Bruno Tonioli. If I had been more prepared, I might should have brought a sign with a “10” on it for them! 🙂
