Stefanie + Kevin | engaged

We are so honored to be a part of Stefanie and Kevin’s upcoming wedding! Here they are, in their own words!

Where did you two meet?

We met at Soddy Daisy High School! I was a cheerleader and Kevin played football. Kevin was a senior and I was a sophomore, so naturally after he graduated we planned on breaking up before he left for college. But thankfully we decided to give a long distance relationship a shot. He headed off to West Point and I stayed here in Chattanooga. 12 years later, and a lot of crazy experiences during that time, here we are!

What was your first date?

Kevin and I went on a group date with several friends, ate at Logan’s, and then played miniature golf.

Was it love at first sight?

We were so young when we met, I don’t think either one of us really knew what love was at first. But we did know that there was something very special about each other than we had not seen in others. Our personalities are very different, but we clicked from the very beginning. I loved that Kevin knew exactly what he wanted to do in life, and he had a plan for it. Kevin was wise beyond his time, and had the determination that it took to be successful.

Favorite thing about the South?

We were both born and raised in the Chattanooga area, and we absolutely adore this place! We love the beautiful mountains we’re surrounded by, the rivers and lakes, and of course, the people! As an Army officer, Kevin has lived in many different states, and visited several other countries, but nothing compares to the South, and specifically, Tennessee! When I was Miss Tennessee 2009 I lived out of a suitcase, and visited a different part of TN on a daily basis. Having the opportunity to see every aspect of our beautiful state was life changing, and made me even more thankful to be from such a unique part of the US. Everywhere I traveled to, I felt like I was right at home. I never once felt like a visitor. I especially love when friends from other states tell me about their wonderful experiences when visiting TN. It makes me so proud to call it home!

Favorite part of a wedding day?

This sounds crazy, but at night when I can’t fall asleep, I think about that moment when the church doors open, the organ starts to play the wedding march, and I see Kevin’s face as I walk down the aisle toward him. Amidst the rush and sometimes, stresses of wedding planning, I think of that moment, and that’s what continues to remind me of how it’s all worth every second of tedious planning for that very moment.

  • Stefanie WittlerKevin and I are in LOVE with our engagement pictures and we are so honored that John and Lindsey are a part of this special time in our lives. They were so patient as we worked toward scheduling the shoot around when Kevin was home for two weeks from his deployment in the Middle East.
