Sometimes when people hear that Lindsey and I have “settled down” in rural east Tennessee, they wonder why. Some more frankly (and verbally), question it; and some just lift an eyebrow. Others smile, see the happiness on our faces, and simply understand. Yes, we have lived abroad, and yes, we could have tried to do the starving artist in NYC thing — or anything else, for that matter….(this IS America, right?) The thing is…we’ve finally found a place to call home, and friends and family surrounding us. We truly enjoy visiting the ‘big city’ and look forward to our next sojourn abroad, but there is nothing like a place to come home to.  I just want to share a few grab shots that I’ve taken over the last year or so… I say ‘grab’ shots…that’s because I literally just saw the sky, grabbed a camera, and went out the back door to shoot. I’ll leave you with a poem.  John

“Softly the evening came. The sun from the western horizon
Like a magician extended his golden want o’er the landscape;
Trinkling vapors arose; and sky and water and forest
Seemed all on fire at the touch, and melted and mingled together.”
– Henry Wadsworth LongfellowEvangeline (pt. II, sec. II)
